my friend just put a jdm b18b in his car, he claims that his motor is putting out 160 top the crank, completly stock. please tell me if this is bullshit or right.

 

yes, total BS. If he got the integra XSI engine then its 160 (I think, dont quote me on that). But if its an actual B18BBBB, then yea, its total bs.

 

b18b 142hp to the flywheel. nuff said


edit, i think the jdm is 145 hp. check out http://www.hmotorsonline.com, they have all the jdm hp listings

 

ok, then now that i know hes lying ill race him. I have a jdm b16 with 145.5 to the wheels and 114.8 wtq. so i think ill be ok

 

Wait, if the XSI Motor puts out 170 hp, how is the B18B faster? Are you talking about 1/4 mile?

Click on the link in my sig about the dyno comparison of a B16 vs a B18b.

You will see the difference in powerbands both hp and torque. The B16 is the clear loser until the B18 stops making power. Its not about peak numbers!
