I own one.
for the DIY kind of person, it's great machine for the price.

the AC feature is crap and dosn't compare in anyway to any great digital pannel machine, but it weld alum and does it right, not perfect but right, IC piping is joke compared to a MIG spool gun machine wich is a pita.

You can do actually almost anything thin, Bodywork, IC endtank, IC piping, SS manifold.

I love mine, simply perfect for my need's as I don't weld all day long.

I do have to say that the 20 % rated is a bit on the low side, but you get use to it, and it let your weld's cool down a bit too...

They must have improved them since I had mine. While it worked great mid-range and at the high-end, mine sucked at the low end. The current would cut off at too high a mininum value; you were stuck with nothing or too much. If you get one, either get a newer rev unit or try it yourself first.

Or, maybe I suck as a weldor... but when I traded up to the Syncrowave 250 I could suddenly weld thin aluminum.

Other then thin aluminum it worked great... perfect for home.

AC work's great on my Econotig too, but damn, it's not an advanced squarewave patern,
the ability to be able to set the + time and the - Time on the Syncrowave is, to me, one of the greatest feature for aluminium, without even talking about having actually a sinusoidal curent output instead of a squarewave output... that mean ALOT for alu.

for mild and SS, the Econotig can do whatever I want it to do, as long as I don't get to thick...

Again, Prolly one of the best Home machine for the price, it's TIG and Stick too! so even if you have to deal with .5 tick mild... just Stick it.

anyway ! it's good machine for the price and moderate use !

Hope this help
