Which exact threads? You are aware that the headbolts thread into the block aren't you? Anyways, an angle grinder really helps to get the remaining gasket material off of the block, and it's recommended that the head going back on the motor be resurfaced regardless. It's a straightforward process, just be sure you know how to install cams and install a timing belt. Other than that It's just the ten headbolts and the intake/exhaust manifolds.

P.S. and the dizzy, but that's really easy.

get some masking tape and a sharpee. mark every connection you disconnect to help make sure you don't forget to hook something back up when you're re-assembling. it is recommended to resurface the head before you put it back on the block. you can remove head gasket material with a razor blade, a can of brake cleaner and a rag. be sure to clean up the mating surfaces of where the intake and exhaust manifold attach as well. you might want to run a can of brake cleaner through the intake manifold while it is off to get out the deposits that have built up over time. would also be a good time to change timing belt, water pump, cam seals, all that crap if you haven't done it recently.

I seriously woudn't do this by yourself the first time. Its good to have someone who knows whats up with you the first time.

Maybe watch someone else a couple times.

But if your gonna hack it yourself, Make sure that you do all bolt sequences AS STATED in the Helms. Especially the loosening sequence. If you rush to get the head off, you could warp it.

Make sure the car is COLD!!!!

While your in your block, scrape off that carbon on the piston heads

Make sure you get the timing correct when reinstalling the haed of course.
