Default My New Civic EX

Just bought my second civic. my first civic was hooked up already with bulls*** and it was automatic until i totaled it by rear ending a lexus.. now i have my 98 ex in red. now i just bought the clear/ red euro lights for the rear end. cuz the orange wasnt kickin for me... now motor wise... it has 93k miles. sohc i really am not sure of the specs yet, i will do my research but if u can help me out thatd be great. the car is stock and im open for any suggestions... i would like my car simple, give me a nice clean sound, and also quick,, NO TURBOi really dont have money like that or motor swaps.. i already have a exhaust coming in .. apexi Dunk.. no intake nor headers.. i would like to change the vavle cover.. and in the front end put a 99-00 ex bumbper ... now is that possible or would i have to mod the bumbper change the head lights?? then add the oem lights in front and get the city lights.. rims... are very hard to chose but im open for any suggestions.. and also coilovers.. im affraid to buy them from ebay for 12 bux lol u tell me.. im open for anything.. good lookin out everone!

p.s. this is my first project on my car again thank u

Well welcome to H-T, as for the 99-00 front end conversion you will need more than just the front bumper, you will need the hood, fenders, headlights, bumper, grille and that should be it, some people suggest using a 99-00 radiator support but it is not nessesary. Enjoy your time on H-T and search for subjects you are interested in, most of the time they have been covered in a prior post and are very informative and may eliminate some of your questions.

DO NOT WAST 12 DOLLARS ON EBAY COILOVERS! with that said, welcome to h-t! you have got a really good d-series engine, i am a d-series fan, but, to give it some real *****, your gonna have to go FI...unless you wanna spend out the *** and make a 11 second SOHC n/a, which will cost you big bucks, but what are some other plans for this car?

I belive you have the EJ, which is bascially the same as an EK. Not exactly sure on this. I belive you have the D16Y8. You can look on your block and it'll tell you.

Heres a link on my front end conversion.

FI=Forced Induction(i.e. trubo or supercharger)...and yes, forget the 12 dollar ebay coilovers, when it comes to suspension, do it right the first time, you will kick yourself in the *** if you don't. yes, you have a d16y8 engine, which is a really good engine, it is just it is hard(meaning alot of $$$) to make an n/a SOHC have some balles....but it doesnt really seem you are up to the task being you seem pretty new to cars, do your research on everything you do or buy, and there is always good **** on this website

EJ is the chassis code if its a EK is only JDM models if its a USDM car wich it most likely is its a EJ8. EX has a d16y8 SOHC vtec. FI= Forced Induction (turbo, supercharger, nitrus) its not much $ to put together a Turbo set up on a d series i have and was less that $1000 http://www.homemadeturbo.com. hope you enjoy it. welcome to HT
