Default Coolant Temperature Sensor woes

I can't get this freaking CEL to go away!!

Code 6 - Coolant Temperature (TW) Sensor
Helms says to check the resistance between the two terminals on the sensor, that's fine. (Put a new sensor in there just to make sure)
Then it says measure the voltage between RED/WHT (+) and body ground, there is ~5V... (Ran a new wire from the plug to the ECU (pin C6) just to make sure)
Then it says measure voltage between RED/WHT (+) terminal and GRN/WHT (-) terminal, there is ~5V.
Then it says try a new ECU, tried my old HF one and still has code 6.

Also tried unconnecting the negative battery cable, taking out the hazard fuse, and unplugging the ECU entirely...

Still MFing code 6!

Here's some other info about the car if it helps:
Put a D15B into my CRX HF
also put in used Neon radiator, MR2 filler tube, OEM thermostat for Z6, OEM water pump for VX, new coolant
Fan does not seem to come on normally so I have the switch jumped
Also, I took out EVERYTHING A/C related (wires and all)

Thermostat opens after a long while

Anyone ever had this problem before or seen anything like it?

just go and get another sensor.....Yeah the helms is weird on this one it shows the graph with the curve right...with resistance to temp on teh x and y axis....Follow that.

Check the sensor if it's giving a reading move on.
Check the wire for breaks...check near the ecu too
After that i say replace sensor...Any old TW sensor will work...

Yeah, I followed all the steps in HELMS
tried 3 different sensors (1 of which was working for sure, got it out of the old motor)
re-wired the positive wire right to the ECU
What else can I do? Just buy a brand new sensor? Or should I try another ECU? Only one I have is PM5 I think, HF.

you should have the pm8....that's the one i had.
I had to replace the whole sensor on mine....i was praying super hard that i didn't have a fucked pw0.....but luckily i cleared up the mess and put a new sensor in.
Listen......try and see if the sensor is hooked up right.....SOmetimes the sensors don't hook in just right and a good wiggle shakes it up and starts working...don't forget to clear your codes....after every mod you do when fooling with sensors....you may have fixed it and not have known it

Oh yeah, it is a PM8 now that you mention it that sounds right. Yeah I hope its just the sensor not the ECU.. I'll try wiggling it around a little (plug has been unplugged and put back so many times it's probably been jiggled enough though)..

I clear the codes every time I try something by taking out the hazard fuse for a min.

Gonna try to get a new sensor tomorrow.

Dammit, still can't get this code to go away!!
And now it seems impossible to start the car since it's dumping so much extra fuel to be safe.

The new sensor didn't do anything, all that's left that I can think of is re-wire the GRN/WHT wire from the sensor plug to the ECU.. or get a new plug and try that.

Anyone have any other ideas on why it's not working? Everything seems to be fine which is the weird thing.

Woohoo, finally got the code to disappear!!

This whole time I had the RED/WHT (+) wire hooked up to A5 instead of A6!!

So I moved it to A6 and viola, no more CEL.

So those of you who have this problem, double check all your wiring (if you did any)!
