Default Rev Limit of stock LS lifters - B18B

Just curious what RPM I can take my LS lifters up to? I have the springs/retainers to handle it.

Thanks!

What springs/retainers do you have? Do you have cams? If not why take it that high anyway; a stock LS peaks between 6000 and 6300.

I have stock LS cams. They are crower springs/retainers (i think, they weren't what they were sold to me ***). Anyway, i dont like shifting into 5th to get through the traps. Thanks for the free bump, but how high will my lifters hold?

I imagine no rev limit ecu, right? I'd only take it a few rpm higher than the stock rev limit unless you have a spare car and money to rebuild if it blows. I've taken the ls as high as 86-8700. but I have also blown a few motors. 2 ls 1 b16 2 b20 1gsr racing is an expensive habit. build it and have it tuned. currently running the b20 2.1 liters crower cams and valve train to 8200. good luck.

Yeah, sorry. Rockers/lifters, whichever one we have (isn't one for pushrod motors only)?

i got the bottom end and the valvesprings/retainers to rev high, i'm asking about the lifters/rockers, whatever they are called.

Thanks Hybrid_Vtec, but are those VTEC heads going to 9k or non-vtec heads? The nonvtec lifters is what im concerned about.

you need to build it to handle that.

yea just because the rockers might be able to handle it, and you have springs, doesnt mean the bottom end is going to hold together.
