[Misshift] got my car back but vtec doesn't kick in
u guys might remember this post...well yea..my car has been in the shop for 2 weeks
it is finally done now...got it out today. 8 bent valves..ill b postin' up some pictures of it...it runs perfect now...but the bad news is that ...the V-tec doesn't kick in for some reason i knew that was gonna b a problem after i get my car outta the shop...and a check engine light just showed up about 30 mins ago....
code: 22
what should b the problem? i checked all the plugs and they're all hooked up hmmm or do i need to let it break in?

thats the vtec pressure switch, its located right by distributor with a green plug. Make sure its connected. Also if you do not have enough oil, or the screen is clogged it will give you this problem. If you have enough oil, take the pressure switch off and clean it out
dunno if its cold where you live, but i had the same problem. CHecked the sensor, cleaned the filter(which had nothing in it) and was still stumped. Turned out to be the oil, i was using 10w 30 still in cold weather from the summer and was too heavy to flow thru during cold temps. Check the oil if everything else is plugged in.

When the car is warmed up, it doesnt matter what the temp is outside - only the operating temp of the engine matters. 10w30 is the same viscosity as 5w30 or 0w30 when warmed up.

exactly. you just need to warm up the car before vtecing lol
