Got a civic hatch with GSR and it is flashing a code 23, from what i know the car is not knocking. Is there any other signs to tell if i really need a new knock sensor. I really don't want to by another one if i dont have too.

See if you get less knock with higher octane. Your ingition or cam timing could be slightly off.

 

what should the time be set at?

 

timing so be at 16

 

Did you use "shielded wire" for the knock sensor, when you did the swap? That can cause EM interference to read as knock to the ECU...

 

Check to make sure it isn't loose or anything too.

 

look and make sure the sensor isn't physically broken...i busted mine when putting on the edelbrock mani
