Help with swap
Well we got my motor dropped in, b16 from Hmotors for my daily driver..
Anyways we hooked up the hoses and power steering etc.
When we went to hook up the wire harness from the engine to the one left on the car(after we pulled out the SOHC) I realized only 1 plug goes together on each side, and the 2 on the passanger side are both female plugs, and so are the plugs coming from the cars harness, so they cant be hooked up.
Im assuming I have to get it wired up at a shop, since I dont know much about the wire part of it all. Do i cut and re-wire or what?? Ill keep searching but I find tons of info that doesnt pertain to me..

If you aren't 100% confident in your wiring, soldering ability don't **** with it. If your looking at the motor from the front of the car this is what has to be done. The clips that connect the engine harness to the chassis harness have to be switched, IE the ones on the left have to be on the right and the ones on the right have to be on the left. Your motor came from a right hand drive car so that part is backwards. So here's the catch, the clips to all the sensors and **** on the motor have to stay where they are. So you need to extend some wires and shorten others, a big pain in the ***. I'm very capable of doing this and I have been working on the write-up for months now, gotta get it perfect though. Get someone who knows electrical to do it. Pay him/her well.
Its a 95 Civic Ex Coupe, and it is a JDM B16, i think im going to have to take it to a shop to finish the wiring, the car is ODB1. Thanks for your fast replies, saves me the trouble of figuring it out.

He's saying use the harness from the motor you took out, the only thing you have to wire is the knock sensor, this will be way cheaper if you decide to take it to someone. A parts store will not likely have an engine wireharness, check bone yards if you sold your motor already.
So Ill rip out my wire harness and try to get m SOHC engine harness back up in there, because I just did it today so I still have to do the shift linkage and the axles, then the wire harness, and Ill have the knock sensor wired up. Thanks guys
Is it fairly easy to remove the harness from all the sensors and stuff, then plug it back in to all the sensors on the B16? I know they cut the battery cables and **** on my b16 so I was gong to have to use the ones from my SOHC reguardless, I guess I should have put 2 and 2 together and realized its meant to use my stock harness.
Okay, so Ill probably throw a check engine light code because of the knock sensor, but when I get it wired up, and throw in my USDM p30 ecu that im gonna buy, it should be fine?
Alright thanks, the motor is already bolted in to al the mounts so im gonna hook it back up to the hoist, and then take the 2 side mounts bolts off to try to let it angle down and remove the harness, then zip tie the sohc harness in..Thanks again everyone
