Help me bypass FITV on AEBS manifold
OK, posting here in the crx forum because I hardly ever get much help on the tech forum. So anyway I put the AEBS intake manifold on my b16 last week and it dosent have the spot for the FITV. No big deal because I had the old fitv screwed all the way in on my old manifold so it wasnt doing me any good. My question is how do I go about bypassing this? Do i just run a 3/8" hose from the throttle body to the small nipple on the AEBS manifold next to the larger one; or do I just cap off both? Also my idle is messed up like the IACV is bad but it wasnt doing this before. It just bounces up and down between 1,000-1500 rpms. Should I also try bypassing the IACV as well? Its not throwing any codes for the IACV but it acts like it. help me out here
Still using the stock 1st gen B16 TB?? Just eliminate the FITV or find a TB with the FITV attached to it. Keep the Idle valve in back of the manifold. I used a couple of inline fittings and coupled the hoses to bypass the FITV but you can use 2 single long pieces of hose. On the back you probably won't use all those vac fittings so cap the extra ones off or run a hose from one to the other. Oh yeah, I used a later style fuel rail with the FPR on the end. I found I had to mount the temp sensor upside down so that I could still use the accelerator cable bracket. I still had to cut a chunk out of the bracket so that it would all fit though. I also used a later LS bored TB with the map sensor on it. Luckily the wiring reached the TB so no extension was needed.
