AEM vs generic intake
I just bought a skunk 2 inake manifold for my 96 gsr knowing the different intake set up i know i need to order a new intake i was going to buy an AEM CAI one piece, but i know an intake is just a tube with a filter at the end. deciding to buy the generic two piece intake off ebay. Which should i choose $205 for the aem(type r) or $45 for the generic two piece and throw on a K&N filter.

I got a silver aem cai for 95 gsr.....filter is kinda beat up but can be used until you get a new one. I recommend getting a k&n or so...but if you want give me an offer..

Not saying the cheapo eBay ones will pollute more, just they didn't pay to get the CARB No. like AEM did. Powerwise, maybe the AEM will make a bit more... but intakes are not how to make power on a car.
in my experiences with intake, there are no power increase differences. IMO though. but you are just paying for the AEM brand and CARB sticker. i live in CA and i feel like im carrying a shank in my car, being scared if i get pulled over ill get busted for illegal intake.
I found a CP cai off ebay comes with a K&N filter and with a carb sticker dont know if its legit item # is 7954061583 check it out after shipping and tax everything, all comes out to around $100 (just wondering what is the tubing diameter is). i dont know leaning towards the generic just because its cheaper.
