Or, he can buy a CAI off EBay and replace the filter with a K&N filter and have the same results for $15.

Re: Intake question (JDM-EJ1)
I got great results with the ebay intake and universal K&N... painted the pipe flat black, looks like some expensive intake...
oh, by the way the universal K&N i used may not pass inspection, it's "technically" not road legal. i think road legal filters are a bit more expensive..

overall, ca cops will give you **** if you have an intake thats not carb legal. thats only if you get pulled over.
for smog, i am not sure if they check or not. depends on the inspector/tester.

Re: Intake question (bleakdragonmage)
Just go with a short intake. The cai really doesn't do anything more then the short one and it adds extra insurance againest hydro-lock.

Re: Intake question (MurdersV8s)
thanks for the input...yea...im not too worried about hydrolock because i'm just going to buy a bypass valve for when i get caught in the rain and im gonna just take the bottom pipe off and move the filter for when i have to drive in the rain

i cut part of my resonator off from behind the bumper and connected the stock box to the tb with a cheap-o ebay metal intake tube.... cheapest airbox you can get.
