It depends on what kind of gains you want. If you want it to be way faster, you should look into an engine swap, or a turbo/supercharger. If you just want minor gains, Intake, Headers, and Exhaust all compliment eachother very well.

Why don't you get new suspension if you are getting wheels and tires.

the best is probably the k20 but that runs like 10,000 or so including installation, and since you sound pretty new, i wouldnt try that one. The B18c1 is probably one of the most popular, its pretty much bolt in for your car, and it has 170 horsepower. If you wanna go the engine swap route then there is no reason for you to put any money into your current engine because none of the stuff will work with the new one, exhaust an exhaust, im pretty sure.

you do have to do a few things, but there are guides and stuff for all of that on these forums, do a search. plus, you might wanna make sure you have plenty of cash before you do all this, the swap total price may be up to around 5000 dollars after its installed. And if you arent mechanically inclined enough to do it, you need to find a shop in your area that does these kinds of swaps...

For a starter.....
If you have an Honda, especially a civic. You want to decide which route you going to take.....Do you want a fast car, or good look or both.
But if you just want something simple with power then buy some bolt-on performance parts, such as intake, exhaust and lowing springs/suspension kit and wheels & tires. All of these parts I mention above are usable or interchangable if you decide to swap to a B series motor, such as the motor found in a 99-00 civic SI, 94-97 Delsol VTEC, and 94-up integra.

well i would really like to have both a fast car and a good looking car. i would really like to have a fast car. looks are nothing to me i would rather have performance and speed. what b-series motor has the most power or the most hp? i may bot be asking the right question or might not have it in the right words.

Most powerful stock B-Series engine is the B18C5 or B18C R (Type R motor). This swap is still pretty expensive. Best bang for the buck is a LS swap. Read the threads at the top of the forum.

Like numbnuts22715 have mention above the GSR motor or aka B18c1 is the best for overall price and performance in the B series motor found in 94-01 Acura integra GSR. The b16a or know here in the U.S. as the Delsol B16 or SI b16 is basically the same, less torque with less displacement 1.6 liter that why its called B16. All B sereies are interchangable so you can create any kind of hybrid B series motor you like.

But if you want some lil puch before any serious modifaction you can get the intake and exhaust system. They are basically interchangable with the B series motor.

If you don't know much about swaps, then stay away from H22's and LS-VTEC. These are too complicated and are known for their problems. Stick with the b series motors like the B16, B16B, B18c1, and B18c5. These all have VTEC, and trust me, you want VTEC. LS motors have a lot of torque, but lack VTEC and can't rev that high. But before you pick a motor, you need to deceide where you're going with this. Do you want to go turbo or all motor? Once you deceide, pick the motor that fits your goals. I'm gonna tell you to go with the B18c1(GSR) because it can go any direction, is a very strong motor, and relatively inexpensive. But the best advice I can give you is to RESEARCH as much as you can before you do anything, it will pay off in the long run.
