I HAVE A 1989 HONDA CIVIC HATCH.... AND I CHECKED THE DIP STICK AND IT SAID IM UP OVER THE TOP CHECKPOINT.. AND A LIL HIGHER THEN IT.... IS THAT GOOD OR BAD?? MY MOTOR IS SMOKIN A LIL MORE..... AND IT FEELS A LIL SLUGISH... DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH TOO MUCH OIL?>??? OR SHOULD I JUST LEAVE IT GO AND BURN IT OUT?? PLEASE LET ME KNOW ASAP THANKS...
yes too much can be to bad i think thats why you are smoken and from what i have been told too much oil is bad on the seals
If you have too much oil in the pan, the crank will whip it into a foam. Now, your engine bearings and such are being lubricated and cooled by half oil, half air. Air does not cool and does not lubricate. Bad bad bad.
I don't know how much you have overfilled, but it wouldn't hurt to drain a bit.

no need to change the oil unless its time for it. just drain some and be done with it.
BTW how much over is it?
my dip stick shows about 1/8th inch over the fill line after an oil change.
