Default 3" vto 3.5" Welded Transition

I need a 3" to 3.5" stainless steel transition for my downpipe. I am thinking of a few methods to make it but i dont know which one is best. The one that sticks out the most in my mind is finding a piece of flat stock stainless (preferably 409Lm if flat stock even exists) heating, rolling it then welding it up (TIG)

does anyone have any suggestions, methods, places to get materials or even pics?
Thanks

never heard of 409. You're not talking about 309 or 308?

If you were using 308, 316 or something, you could buy a reducer...probably off ebay even.

The stainless piping i have says 409, the downpipe ss is 409L. I'm assuming you can weld 409 to 309 given the right filler correct?

holy microsoft paint sucks .. lol sorry for the big pic ..
409 s.s i belilve was made for the automotive industry b/c its cheaper the 304 and still contains the properties of stainless .(whont rust .) 409 is found on high end production cars for exhaust systems .(gm , chevy, chrys ) .. only thing is 409 turns golden brown .. but whont rust .. i say make it like the photo .. copy a pattern to sheet and roll .. cheap and shouldnt obstruct flow
