p28 won't idle.
i'm about ready to throw it out the window. my car idles perfectly on the stock ecu. i put in my chipped p28 and it hunts like a vacum leak. i can lean it out at idle to get it to idle fine however the second i drive it and come to a stop light it hunts again. anytime i put load and then take load off it starts to **** up and won't stabalize. i have the evap sensor unpluged. doesn't help at all. i'm 99% sure i want to upgrade to hondata would this fix it or am i going to be having the same problems.

Its not the ECU, its the "chip" your running. Its either running an assload of fuel, or not enough fuel. My guess is its using an assload. EVAP won't do anything with your idle. Check the TPS voltage. Make sure its .5volts when closed. If that checks out fine then I stick with my first diagnosis. Its running too much fuel.

it is running to much at idle. my point is i have to run -30 on the vafc at idle and even with that it hunts for 20 seconds or so at a light before it settles and at night when the lights are on. no matter what i do with the vafc it won't idle. i'm going hondata. chipped p28's are terrible.

A Hondata is the same basic thing. But whatever floats your boat. You need to huck the VAFC garbage and then correct the chip. That is why its doing that. The VAFC is NOT the correct way to correct the problem.

i'm running kenji's skunk2 stage 1 program.
doesn't idle for ****. i can tune it to work somewhat but not with the excessories on. hondata is at least compeletly specific to my set up and i bet doesn't have these problems.

I have the same problem and I am also running a kenji chip. What motor is this on b18c?

b16a2.
you can sort of tune it out with the vafc but it will never idle like stock. the program is just not that great as far as idle characteristics go. i'm going hondata and i'm willing to bet it doesn't have the same problems.

I'll bet you $1,000 that if you put the same program in the Hondata, it does the exact same thing. Wanna bet?

what are you betting about your aggreeing with me. i just said its the program. hondata and tunning would be creating my own program. i'm ditching this old set up completely and starting over. and thats what i'm betting won't have any problems.

Why not go to http://www.pgmfi.org, download crome, buy a burner for $80 and make your own program that way?

cuz i'm dumb and would rather just pay the 300 to get the hondata s100 and pay another 150 for tunning lol. i admit i know nothing about ecu's and would rather have professionals do it right the first time. its a daily driver and i don't have the ability to trial and error on it.

This shouldn't be a shocker to anyone. Comparing to Apples to Oranges. Tune the chipped P28 and the results would be the same. Its good to know you got your problem solved.
