Default Idle surge when switching between ECU's

obd1 del sol with b16

chipped p28 everything runs great no problems.... then when the usdm p30 is installed the idle surges from 1000-1400 when the car becomes warmed up.

swap ecu's and the problem goes away, the only thing different between the ecu's is the knock sensor which is wired up correctly. No CEL's.

does the probem lie within the p30? or is there something i am overlooking between the ecu's?

I would assume the P28 has a chip that disables closed loop operation. When the stock P30 is installed, the idle mixture is off (too lean) and causes the surging.

uhh, car is running in open loop with stock o2 sensor. the p30 is the right ecu for the motor and car...

Closed loop operation is with O2 sensor feedback. Open loop is direct from the maps.

hmm ok, well can u explain why a p30 would cause this motor to run lean? being as that its the right ecu...

Try adjusting the idle mixture bleed screw on the throttle body, or jump the service check connector and set the baseline idle with the IACV disconnected.
