can someone help me class my car for SOLO2?
Well here in Montana we have been using our own rules along with SCCA, I guess to make things more competetive, ya know because we dont have a whole lot of cars...so. Now this year we are hosting a regional Solo2 event so you see my delema.
I have printed the whole 312 page rulebook and am going to read it in the next couple of days. But I was hoping that I could get some help..
here goes
89 CRX Si
Drivetrain;
B16 untouched w/ poly motor mounts
K&N Filter
Thermal R&D exhaust
Powercore cat
Y1 trans w/lsd poly shift bushing
reg PR3 ecu
Suspension and brakes;
H&R Race springs on
KYB AGX shocks
DA brakes all around, including booster, master cylinder, p-valve
SS lines w/EBC Green pads
ES master poly kit...trailing arm bushing still stock(does it matter?)
wheels & tires;
Falken Azenis sport on 15x7 Rota Slipstream wheels
body and interior;
Sparco Speed seat with Sparco Ring wheel
rest of interior is removed besides sunroof and insturment cluster
stock bodied except for homemade aluminum front air dam(about 3" off ground)
I know I might get "flamed" for this but I come on here and see cars that are built to "ITA spec" and I've never followed these rules I've just built my car to win around here lol.
anywho TIA -John

crx isn't allowed in SM. SM2 if he had interior. I'm not sure of the rules past SM so I can't be sure.

Good point, I forgot about that.

The engine swap bumps you to a Mod class (SM2 or DM) regardless. A Prepared car's engine has to at least resemble the original one, and you can't remove the heater in SM2, so you'd go right in to D-mod without the heater core, no matter how much or how little interior you add or subtract.
I forgot more about hondas then you will ever know....

YES! autocross has a steep learning curve. you don't want to have you spirit shot down when a super7 shows up and annilated you. go into SM2, and mess around with all the other swaps and the occasion vette.

well...I've been autocrossing for 5+ years... and road racing for about a year, so I know about learning curves.
Sounds like SM2, I'll look into it. Thanks everyone!
