Im pissed! What should I do?
ARGH!!!! Im Pissed!!!! What Should I do?
Ok, after not driving my car for three weeks. I finally get all my parts together and have the time to get my ride going again. After a bit of aggrivation (Koni instructions suck!). I get my shocks and spring on my car. This is after the aggravation of prothane bushings last weekend. So now I have everything on the car. Full integra suspension and brakes w/ new pads and rotors, stainless lines, new bushings... all torqued down ready to go. Now for the under the hood part. We have a flare wrench cause I know the fittings arent easy to get off on the proportioning valve. I get four out of six but cant get the last two no matter what. clip the lines so they can be reflared. Next we get the booster in which was a great pain in my ***. I hate that thing. ok so we reflare the lines match the lines to the master cylinder after bench bleeding it. Everything is ready to go . Tightening down the master cylinder and lines. Leaking at one of the reflares. Also leaking where the booster and master cylinder line up. I tightne the blots again and snap. THERE GOES THE STUD. DAMN IT. Now my car is stuck because of that stupid stud. Now what should I do? ANd why is it leaking behind the master cylinder? It was still on super tight with just one stud. Im just ready to drive my car again.
Ok here are my options as I see them( using one inch LS MC and Booster currently):
1 Repair booster
2 Buy new LS booster
3 Buy GSR MC to go w/ the extra GSR booster I have sitting around.
4 Use stock booster and MC for now and upgrade later

I wish you guys would just take my advise and use the:
INTEGRA RS MASTER CYLINDER.
It is non-ABS so there is NO need to bend or re-flare lines at all. There are no larger ABS fittings to screw around with either.
I run the RS booster/master cylinder combo on my 1992 CX with no problems at all. Bolts up like stock - lines and all - and is 15/16ths just like the LS/GS-R combo.

Here's some pics from my car:
As the pics show there is no modifying at all for this to work.
For a prop valve I used any Integra prop valve and I had no troubles at all in doing so. The only thing you'll need to "mod" you will have to do if you have a 1992-1993 Civic is to "flatten" out the mounting bracket for the valve or just swap out brackets with your O.E Civic one.
1994-1995 Civics went to the angled bracket like the Integra had, so if you have a 1994-1995 Civic then disregard.

Do you know if that same combo would work on an EK?

This thread is dealing with the 1992-1995 Civic and not the 1996-up Civic.
I can't even begin to tell you about the 1996-up stuff.
There was a thread about all of the brake ****. Do a search by user name and look up threads created by DragII whatever his name is today (the Civic forum Moderator). It's title was something like "The Be all end all X brakes on Y car..." or something like that.

Tom, is the booster for the rs different than that for the 1" MC's? I bought a booster a long while back guy told me it was a GSR. Stuff Im currently using is off an LS and the MC doesnt fit the booster this guy sold me. Any ideas? I think the problem isnt that I used the 1" cylinder its that Im a dumbass and often get carried away w/ my wrenching before thinking.

1'' master cylinder? That would be an ITR then.
Any 1994-up Integra booster should fit up to the Integra RS master cylinder.
*However*
Sometimes you will need to trim down the shaft on the booster if the RS master cylinder doesn't fit on flush on the booster. 3/4 of an inch will make it clear and work perfect.

These can also be "swapped" in with some flaring.
But, to sum it up, Tom's right. Use the 15/16ths from the Integra RS and save yourself a lot of time. The extra 1/16 actually DECREASES the psi of the brake fluid you deliver to the brake calipers. Those of us who upgrade upgrade primarily for the increased VOLUME of brake fluid (to fill those big *** Accord Wagon calipers we have bolted on there, or if you're REALLY smart and lucky, the Legend Coupe calipers you have bolted up there).
Of course, NOW I know this. When I was double flaring (imagine Yosemite Sam)that rakem fratchin meekin heekin brake line, I didn't know all this crap.
Good luck.
Shawn

Ok here is my problem. I think I have the 1 inch MC but I dont know Ill look when I get home. My problem is that I suposedly got a GSR booster and it doesnt bolt up to my master cylinder I got off an LS. (I got the complete suspension and brakes off a gsr plus an LS booster and booster for 400 I think I did ok). Will a 2000 SI booster work with the MC I have. I just got one off ebay for super cheap. If not anyone wanna trade boosters?
