Default lighting problem, stopped working

i have a 92 dx hatch, my dash lights have been working fine since i've had the car. by dash lights i mean gauge cluster lights, climate control lights etc... the other day i installed an r1 tach, i attempted to splice into the dimmer switch, black to black, red to red, red/black to red/black and green wire to the blue dizzy wire. it worked okay but i had to dim my lights half way for it to work perfect. so i decided to put my dimmer switch wiring back to how it was and just tap into the cigarette lighter wiring. this works perfect but after i did this, my dash lighting did not work at all, no gauge cluster lights and no climate control lights, all other mechanical stuff works fine. i checked the fuses, nothing is blown. what else could it be, all my wiring is perfectly wrapped with no wires exposed. what else could i check?thanks for any help!
