Exhaust question about EG Hatches
I have a 92 dx hatch but with an Si motor (D16Z6). I currently have a full custom exhaust with thermal muffler but would like to go back to stock.
Is the Si exhaust the same as say a DX exhaust? Same size etc etc.
Also will the Si exhaust fit on the dx body perfectly?
Basically, do all the EG hatches have the same exhaust system?
Thanks!

Si came with 1.75" piping and a chrome tip, others are 1.5" IIRC.
Why don't you just get a stock style muffler of whatever inlet/outlet size your custom exhaust is? It'll still be quiet but will flow better than that 1.75" and you'll have less parts to buy (I'm assuming your changing back because of noise issues).

Alright thanks!
Just wanna make sure I get the right thing. As it is now, this thermal muffler causes a drone at highway speeds. If I drive for more than an hour, my ears ring when I get out.
I want the quietest sounding exhaust, but I want to keep the costs low. Seeing I already have the piping I suppose that yes, it would be easier to just change the muffler.
THanks for the info!

if its just a noise issue on long journeys, have you thought about a tunable back box? there universal fit and it makes a hell of a difference with the end cap in as thats what im using at the moment and you dont lose the look of the back end.
Well in reality it's more than just long journey's. It drives me nuts the most on long trips.
Annoys me all the time.
Back box? Never heard of that.
Looks like im gonna try to go with a stock like muffler with a bigger inlet.

hey man, check this exhaust out. Its the RS*R exhaust, but supposedly it sounds just like the WS. And thats quiet.

You can always try a turbo style muffler, like a Flowmaster. Some can be had relatively cheap, they flow a little better than stock and don't make as much noise as straight through. A buddy of mine had a cheap ghetto rigged Cherry Bomb turbo style muffler (not the resonator, an actual muffler) on his B20VTEC CRX as a temporary fix and it was really quiet, you couldn't hear it over the intake anyways.
