Default What EK years were HB's available

Thanks guys. I've been in EF's forever, and am thinking about moving into an EK hatch as my daily driver. What trim levels were available for the years 96-00?

Was the hatch even available from 98-00? Sorry for the noob question guys, but I couldn't find enough info in one location to get it all straight.

P.S. What's everybody's favorite, as far as trim level goes?

For 96-00 there were 2 types of hatches available.

DX and CX

CX is a little bit below the DX, less options come standard.

There is a 96-98 model year, and a 99-00 model year. Only minor cosmetic changes were made between these 2 models.

Personally I have a DX.

I like the 99-00's front ends. Larger grille, fog light holes, just a better look. Not to flashy like most body kits.

from what i see, difference between the 97 dx and 97 CX was the wing, painted mirrors, and rear windshield wiper..

I prefer the 96-98 style myself.

I like the front end better,
it's not as "new and clean" looking as the 99-00
but It's got a simpler look to it, and that single lower grille opening is cool, especially matched with the right front lip

the center console is different. the 97-98 has the mechanical temperature slider where the 99-00 has the electrical temp dial.

I don't think the CX came with rear speakers. Not sure on that. Am I right?
