Default B18c1 vs. B18c5

What are the advantages and disadvantages of using these two motors if dropped in an eg hatch? Is one more able to be boosted? Is JDM ITR the way to go?

the c5 is better for n/a and the c1 is better for boost if you dont want to replace the pistons

Actually the C5 is better for boost too, but you have to tune it very well to avoid detonation. The higher flowing head and more aggressive camshafts and open-plenum intake manifold help turbo applications a WHOLE lot.

It's all in the tuning.

The C1 is much better to boost than the C5 since the compression is lower. The cam is also better on the C1 if you are boosting. At least is you are running like a 6-8lb supercharger. If you are running a real high pressure turbo the C5 might be better don't know/
