well i know with my same engine i have gone 112mph so it is not a governer. but turn off the caps lock damn! and honda motors don't have much torque, especially the non vtec, just so you don't get flamed.

Do you have a big system? Lots of subwoofers. Do you have the a/c or heat on full blast? I'm really reaching here b/c my friend had a damn Protege that would hit 105... My brother in a corsica can hit 110? Are you using the lowest gear possible to reach that speed without blowing the motor? This sounds like am being an *** but I am asking in all honesty not trying to be mean. Just as many suggestions as I can think of.

damn son you know what you are doing wrong.
because you got the cx tranny with the ultra long gears when you flooring it and it wont pass 80 quickly down shift to first gear but keep your foot on the gas and pop the clutch.
it will take some effort but it will work they make it hard because they didnt want to get sued or anything for people speeding.
get back to us when it works

I sure in the hell wont down shift to 1st gear doing 80 ! LOL ! no a/c on , about a 80-100lbs. speaker box but that should only affect maybe the torque, not top speed ?

Maybe it needs a tune up. What size wheels are on the car?

in my 1986 civic hatch 1.5L (76HP, 83ft-lb tq), i couldn't hit 90mph with 4 ppl in my car. I could only hit like 80mph and the car wouldn't go no more.

You shouldn't be going 80mph...period.

if you want to, leave it on 3rd gear if you want to go faster.
