Whats the easiest way to wire in a b16a2 (obd2) into a 1996 dx?
Is a 96-98 EX harness direct plug n play, i.e. no repinning or adding wires necessary?
thanks

The easiest way, without having to splice or modify the current harness, is to use a 99-00 B16 wiring harness. Easier than said. Then sell the D16 wire harness to someone doing a D16 swap.

Wow, thanks...never even knew there was a search....oh wait, I did...thanks for the help though....
Silly me thinking this is a 'forum' where people brainstorm and discuss ideas, yes, even ones that have been covered before.....

You cant use the 99-00 harness. Im going to use a EX harness on mine, but I think there are some wires that may need to be extneded { ive been told}. I have no clue what they are though.
What ecu are you gonna use?

Im planning on using the a p28 with a obd2->obd1 conversion harness.
I know you CAN use the Si harness, because we hooked one up in my friends dx hatch last year. But it was never 'right', but it ran since the Si (and all 96-00) harness run straight from the ecu to the engine, so all the engine sensors are connected (except the secondary o2 sensor). I was just wondering what would be easier...
using the ex harness and modifying as necessary, or
using the Si harness and modify the green plug (that connects the engine harness to the dash harness) to match...
oh well, I think Im leaning towards using the Si harness and work from there....I cant seem to find any really good write ups or info on using the EX harness ....

easiest way would be to gwt an ex harness but from the year of your car not the engine, and use an 0bd2 ecu like the one i got for sale, cause other ones from a del sol b16 ie is hard to find
a si harness wont work and aint worth the trouble, its obd2b not obd2a
