Need help. Dont know what wire harness i need for my 96 dx coupe with B16A2 swap
I have a 96 dx coupe with a B16A2 swap but the guy who sold it to me told me that i need to change the wire harnest. what wire harnest would i need for my OBDII and for that the OBDII check plug would work for inspection and check engine light go away. get an manual ex harness. its vtec and obd2 but must be from 96 and up. whats the problem with your harness?

my harness only have two plugs onto the computer and the guy mickey mouse all of it you cant even hear the v tech. it also has a dx computer. my check engine light is on and when i plug scan tools on the OOBDII plug it cant reed.

if the ecu isnt chipped for vtec then u dont have vtec. as for the 2 plugs thing i dont know of any ecu that just has 2 plugs to the ecu i thought they all had 3? but i may be wrong. what ecu is it??

No, you only want 96-98 if youre changing the harness to EX -> 99-00 will give you more problems....
Really, I would just say use the DX harness and add the wires for vtec and repin the iacv for 2 wire, instead of three. Free vs $100+
HOWEVER, if you only have 2 ecu plugs, its probably cut up - so get a new harness (remember, 96-98 ONLY)
Youre using the dx ecu...so no vtec...
Get the right ecu - Buy an obd2A -> obd1 jumper and get a chipped p28 with stock p30 maps (this is the easiest thing to do)
No, you cant chip your current dx ecu to run a p30 program
Also, check your cel code yourself (F*ck obd2 scanners...)

Do any of you have a site or something that i can look at how to take out the wire harness out of a 96-98 civic coupe, did one on a 92 hatch and it was a bitch had to cut the wires if the fuce box and everything just to take out the 3 plug wire harness

That isnt at all what he needs...his main wiring harness is f*cked...
When your trial period is over, you can check out the marketplace and post a WTB ad for a 96-98 EX main harness::
