With out running coolant your blades will dull out very fast. Try to rig a coolant system on your bandsaw. Blades will last much longer.

i have a coolant set up on my bandsaw .. its kinda a pain for quick cuts .. i would only set it up for long repetitive same cuts .. i would use some distilled water and anitfreez .. (never done it just heard it will work) .. it gets all over the place and ground and **** ..

i just keep a bottle of silicone lubricant or wd 40 .. and spray ever so often .. and hook up a wire pad or s.s brush for the blade to pass by after it cuts to clean it of the metal shavings .. will cut cooler and faster like that .. b/c the teeth arnt cloged and trying to cut .. hoped it helped ..

do not use regular **** oil .. it will smoke like a **** .. if u dont whant to use silicone lub .. then get cutting oil .. specific **** for this .. i would but my wd 40 seems to work very well and cheap

also move slow threw **** like s.s and thick plate steel ... aluminum i go to town on and have no problems but s.s and thick plate will mess up your blade faster ..

We use a wax stick on the blades at work. Just turn on the band saw and run the wax into the blade. It helps out alot and it doesnt make a mess like coolant or oil.

I did that before, you can get the stuff for metal blades at any hardware store. It works to some point, but when the blade heats up the stuff just comes off.

used motor oil/trans fluid in a shampoo bottle.. fabbed a sheetmetal tray to catch the chips, which actually absorb all the oil as well. scrape it all right into the trash when tray fills up.

before anyone talks crap about my cheap *** method..
ive used the bandsaw atleast an hour a week for 2 years now. never once changed the blade and cuts as good as ever. not a penny spent, and i get more out of my oilchanges.

ive never had a problem with dulling blades(they would dull but at the rate it should) just get diffrent blades something with big teeth for aluminum and something mediuim to fine for sheetmetal and tubing. we use a coolant system at work with a diamond blade for glass, the machine has a coolant catch tray at the base and passages for it to flow, dont use any oil that is heavy on the blade, it will just gum everything to hell. maybe try and find some sort of spray cutting oil. or just get some water soluble oil and put it in a squirt bottel. also for aluminum denatured alcohol work extreamly good
