Default Honda oil pan material.

What are honda oil pans made of? Aluminum or Steel?

i think they are just pot metal that is stamped, kid of like a cluster **** of random metals, mostly steel i think

Depends on the year and engine... If your pan is black, then it is steel.

The newer oil pans are cast aluminum and are pretty thick. Just make sure you know which oil pan yyou have

If a magnet sticks it's steel. If not it's aluminum.

There are weld-on and bolt-on solutions for both types of pans. It depends on if you want to weld it on or drill and bolt it on. They are commonly available as steel weld-on NPT bungs, and are less commonly available as a -10 AN male fittings. Summit, Earls, Jegs, etc have the steel bungs. yeah i found them at the local muscle car place i was just wondering which to get. oh and they are the -10 AN male fittings too

Just weld on a steel pipe if you get a steel pan. For aluminum, tap in a fitting.

the ek's and the em2 are like that.the lx and dx have steel pans and the ex and si's have aluminum
