Default Rough Shift possible tranny fluid

I searched for transmission fluid and didn't come up with much. Anyway, the past few times I drove my car it has been going into 1st and 2nd gear rough. I thought it was the shifter so I checked that out and that was fine and so was the clutch fluid. I was wondering if it could be the transmission fluid. If so, how do I change it.

on the right side of the transmission (passenger side) there are 2 bolts, the bottom one drains the fluid and the top one you stick a tube/funnel and to fill. Other people have removed the speed sensor and found it easier to fill it from there from the top, just make sure you don't overfill though! Good Luck.

Is it grinding going into gear? If its grinding then it is due to your synchros. Or is it just hard to put it in gear? Id go out and check your shift linkage real good and the transmission fluid.

right around 2 - 2.5 quarts... just fill it till it starts to drip from the fill hole(you have to take the fill plug out even if you fill it from the speed sensor). once it starts to drip from the fill hole let it drip till it's not really dripping anymore then put it all back together..

and to answer you question, yes, your tranny might be grinding because your tranny fluid is all broken down. it might also be your syncros.. which means changing the fluid wont do ****.

NO!!!!!!!! 3.8 for the WHOLE system MAYBE. Not for just draining/filling the tranny. It would be 3.8 if you were flushing the system out completely and needed to fill the WHOLE system.

No it never grinds, it is just hard to pull back into second gear when coming from 3rd. I have to pull it alot harder to make sure it goes it. Everything else is fine. I checked the linkage and no clearance problems.
