Is my shock going to die!?
Well today, I added 1.8 springs to the fronts and 1.5 drop on the backs. While lowering my car, the back right shocks started to make gurgling noise, and liquid started to come up making a puddle. Well, I felt it and it was water.
Could it be the lubrication? The shock is actually stock. What else could it be?
Is the shock going to die soon? How would I know? Would the ride be stiff or bumpy?
help me!!

if your shock was blown your ride would be really bouncy and rough...it wont handle evenly going around corners and what not. you should have checked the shocks while you had the suspension out of your car. just compress the shock and see if it comes back up...simple as that.
Good Luck

If I was going to get new shocks, do I really need adjustable shocks? I am a noob!!! How is it adjustable anyways? If I were to get it, I could lower my car even lower (which I plan not to) with the neuspeed springs already in it?
It sounds like you got neuspeed sports so you should be fine. That is what i have on my 98 integra with stock shocks and they are holding up fine. My friend with 400 whp and neuspeed race springs, well he went thru 3 stock front shocks before going with an aftermarket brand. He did not get adjustables he got some cheap ones but that is what I would probably get if I had to replace mine, so either way is ok. Some shocks are shorter though and are meant for bigger drops so be careful and stay within your drop if you go with some shocks. good luck man
Where in GA do you race? I will be making trips up that way to do some traps after I do a major rebuild. Stock rings are weaker than I thought they were, oops!

why would u lower your car on stock shocks... they arnt ment to used like that they will blow sooner or later its just a matter of time....u might as well up grade them with some konis or like a kyb-agx....
Sounds like your shocks are almost blown.
No, you don't necessarily need adjustable shocks, but there will be a difference in handling and you will enjoy the adjustability on them.

I second the Konis. I have Eibach Sportlines with stock shocks and the performance just isn't there. Konis are in my near future. If not Koni Yellows all around, I would also suggest the Tokico Illuminas. Both are very reputable companies. Good luck with your shocks!

Why would you make a stupid comment like that? Some people don't have to money to get shocks at the same time they get springs, but want to lower their car. I've gone 3 months on my stock springs on H&R sports on stock shocks and I plan to go atleast 3 more before I buy new shocks. My friend has his DA9 slammed with Ground Control's and has been riding on his stock shocks for over 2 years...I think he along with tons of other people who lower on stock shocks will be fine until they can afford new shocks. You are right, he should get new ones eventually, but with a small drop like with H&R sports and Neuspeed sports, it isn't immediately necessary to switch them out unless you have the money.

It is true. The Eibachs were a chunk out of my budget and so I have had them on stock shocks for about 2 and a half years now. But I'm starting to hit up Autocross now and I can feel that my shocks just aren't cuttin it. That's why Konis are just around the corner. But yeah, there is no necessity to get shocks in while you're gettin springs on. It is easier to get it all in at once but if your budget don't provide, then there is no hurry.
save up do the job once and be done with it.....its better on your wallet and your time...u can buy packages and save money and when u take the shocks and springs out u save time by doing this job once, i just like doing jobs one time if i can. i mean a set of kyb agx shocks are like 300 bucks. they wount break your wallet.

Why? Do it right or don't do it at all...
Stock shocks do not work with lowering springs for several reasons:
1. Stock shocks are designed to work at a given ride height, lowering springs put the stock at the limit of its travel, where damping is often least effective. Additionally, this makes them more likely to internally bottom out.
2. Stock shocks do not have enough damping to control stiffer springs. This means for a given input (bump) they will osscilate more -- accelerating wear, and decreasing grip.
3. Stock shocks are manufactured to a price point and are a wear item. After 3 years, even on stock springs, they'd probably be up for replacement.
Can you run lowering springs on stock shocks? Yes. Especially with mild drops and mild spring rates such as H+R Sports. Is it ideal? Far from it.
