Default What is the best turbo to go with onfully built H22 wiht bore and stroke kit to a 2.4?

need some advice on what is the best turbo to go with on a fully built H22 with bore and stroke kit to a 2.4- I would like to run over 20 psi. Ive been looking at Greddys stage 3 drag turbo or the Turbonetics kit.
Thanx for the input, any help would be greatly appreciated!

I wont be to hard on ya like some other people will be, but try searching for info, there is tons to be read.

You are gonna have to do research on turbo types. Different compressors and/ or turbines will affect the spool times and the air flow of the turbo. What type of racing will you be doing? What RPM range do you want to see full boost? There are many questions you need to ask your self before you go hunt a turbo. A popular one is the Precision SC series, or the SC61 to be exact. But there are others like it. The best thing you can do is research.

What 2.4 stroker are you using? If you can actually answer that I won't laugh at you and close this thread.

if you want to boost over 20 pounds, i dont think your going to want to go with a pre put together turbo kit either, you would be much better off piecing together a kit that better suits your needs

You are gonna have to give me a day on that. It was custom and im not sure of the exact name of it. ill get back ot you on that. all i know is it makes one hell of a difference at low end.So anywayz back to the main question does anyone have any GOOD experience with running over 20 psi and what turbos are good and reliable for this type of application.

psi is just a number, it is irrelevant... any turbo can do 20 psi. you can get a t3 and turn 20 lbs. what's your whp goal?

Not to sure how that compares around but im trying to get in some time at a wheel dyno but dont have the time. That was with about 4000 in the motor and parts at cost.

list your setup, ie name brands and who did the work, cause 650 whp is a high goal. prob 700-725 at the flywheel. the turbo and stuff i have prob could push 600 whp depending on engine setup and efficancy, but i dont like to max things out, so im going bigger.

Im in manitoba right now and will be home on next monday. i live in leamington ontario. here on business. So i got all of my info at home and id be guessin at alot of it cuz it was done a year ago. My dad is a mechanic builds drag motors. Ron Elford aslo builds drag motors for grand bend. So it ws all done right and i havent had any problems yet. I also succesfully built an f22 block wiht an h22 head and ran the motor for a full summer. But then i wanted lots of power and wasnt sure if that motor would hold so i just ditched the f22 block and bought a bare h22 block. Wish i had some pics to show. Wasnt the most powerful thing but igot it down to high 14's at the track with cheap road tires so i wasnt to dissapointed. Big pain in the *** though. Lots of modififctaions to make that work.

wait so with 428 horsepower at the flywheel you were only able to put down high 14s at the track!!!
ive seen sub 200hp preludes do that.

2.4L you can do that w/factory ****? but if your not running a deck plate "at least" that motor will not like anything above 7k...you will have some really good tq tho? probably a little more than hp.....but like i said if you are not running a deck plate or can straighten that r/s out hence? DECK PLATE......your motor will have some serious side load and will where the walls out very quick.just curious how much did you pay for that stroker kit.pm me maybe i can help.

3/4 deck plated 2.6L w/t72 bb w/n o s pro race fogger "WELL OVER 700 COMING AT YOU" coming to a dyno near you VERY VERY SOON?

Ball-Bearing Turbo.

I don't like greddy turbos. I've rode in a couple civics with them. And all I can say is... fasljkfj lasdkfj alsdfj alskfjasdlkfjasdf

Just wanted to add. I'm not sure, but somewhere I read that greddy kits are more emissions friendly. Don't take my word on it though... I'm a garrett & turbonetics fan.
