My setup: What is a safe shot for street and strip?
I'm running LS/VTEC (81.5mm) on stock sleeves. The bottome is built with completely forged internals (Eagle H-beams, JE pistons (10.8:1)) I have ARP rod bolts and headstuds, nitrous specific JE rings. The bottom end has just been rebuilt. Head is stock. I am planning on runnin and MSD digital 6 so I will retard timing as necessary. Here is what I am thinking, but I'd like to hear some of the nitrous gurus insight.
This is a direct port setup
Street 100 shot, 93octane, 2-3 degrees of retard
Strip 125shot, 100+octane, 3-4 degrees of retard
All of this is assuming a proper tune and the necessary colder plugs
LMK if you guys think I could run more, should run less...whatever.

150 on the strip with race fuel?
I had considered the sleeves the weak point of the motor, but the more I looked into it, it appears that with good tuning stock sleeves can see 400+ hp pretty easy. So 150 shot would put me right around 350. I had been leaning more toward 150 on the strip w/ about 5 degrees retard.
Anymore feedback, I'd love to hear it guys.

dont even try to compare N20 to turbo
The torque of n20 is 5X better
Why are you going to run more at the track? stay consistent so you know what works and you know your car and know what it runs and what it likes/doesnt like, less chance to **** up
I personally had a built sohc running a 150 shot direct port, the only downfall of this system is I thought N20 kicks in like a turbo, gradually.......... wrong!
******* all at once like a ton of bricks, wheel spin absolutely dominated me and I could put no power to the wheels, was spinning slicks at teh track spraying in second, look into a nitrous progressive controller
Also, with higher compression, dont think a 100 shot = 100whp, itll be more
Dont feel like writing any more
Youll get sick of nitrous though, little shots are fun because bottles last, a 150 shot would last me 2 runs and then Id start dropping bottle pressure, got expensive fast
Swap you pistons and go boost, you wont regret it

I specifically built this motor to have descent compression in order to make good power off-the-bottle. I know turbo is great and everything, but this motor will be nitrous for now. The reason I am planning on going more at the track is because I will be running 100+ octane....where on the street I don't have that available.

why?? So you can run a 12.5 at the track on slicks and 100+ octane, tell everyone that, hype your car
Then get spanked by a 13.3 second car and your excuse is "Im running low octane and Im getting no traction..."
I run in street trim so I know my car, I know my launches in street trim, you cant just throw in high octane gas and think you can drive the same, youll need a different tune, youll have to be good with timing
to much to talk about, all about your ego I guess

No...so I can run a low 12's on the street and break into the 11's on the track.
Hell, maybe I'll just run a 150 all day
