Quick question, overheating.......
Did a jdm d15b vtec swap, car over heats. Upper radiator hose is hot and lower is cold. Now when the thermostat is bad, will that cause the fan to not kick on? With my previous motor, the fan worked fine. So my question is will a bad thermostat (one that is stuck closed) keep the radiator fan from kicking on? TIA

bad radiator cap, bad water pump, clogged heater core, clogged lower hose/radiator
in bold are two commonly overlooked problems
i would start with a flush, good cleansing and fill then see and then replace the radiator cap and then its up to you

Just before teh swap, everything was fine. And I did a flush when I put everything back together. What I want to know is will the radiator fan still kick on if the thermostatis stuck closed?

The fan switch sits on the thermostat housing(on the side that does not have coolant in it until the thermostat is open). So if the thermostat is not opening, it could very well prevent the switch from reaching the proper temp to activate your radiator fan.
