My car is overheating everytime I go in a highway and my mechanic told me just tap the radiator fan so it would not overheat again. Is it a good Idea to do that? Re: quick question
it could just be that you are low on coolant and check your oil level. if your radiator fan isn't on then is it even working? check the fuse under the hood

Re: quick question
Are you losing coolant? Is the thermostat and radiator cap working? Have you topped off and bled the cooling system?
Jumping the fan switch:
This should only be done if the radiator fan does not run when the engine is hot. Unplug the 2P connector of the fan switch located on the thermostat housing and then install a jumper wire across the two terminals of the connector. The fan should now run whenever the key is in ON(II). If so, replace the switch so the fan does not run all of the time.
Warning: You can permanently destroy your engine by letting it overheat.
