Default Removing tranny (4th gen)

hey i burned out my clutch/ flywheel this summer and need to replace both over winter. I was wondering if there was a way to take off the bottom guard under the engine off, unbolt it, and take it off w/o having to take apart a buncha extra from the engine to get to it?

any guidance or pictures would be greatly help and be appreciated!

thanx
Richard

i'm not 100% clear on wut ur askin, but to take the tranny off, the only other stuff you need to remove are the cv axles and clutch lines, and probably the splash guard if u still have it. other than that its just unbolting the tranny. dunno if that helped at all.

all I gotta say is PAIN IN THE ***! there's almost no room for the tranny to drop out and it's a total bitch to get back in. if yo do a search, you'll see some threads about installing a clutch.

After my last tranny removal i swore i will never do it again. Ever since then i just remove the entire engine. Few more things to unhook but the overall job was way easier.
