OBD2 b18c1 gsr into OBD1 civic while keeping
OBD2 b18c1 gsr into OBD1 civic while keeping it OB2
(title got messed up)
==================
==================
how do i do this? i have been trying to figure it out for 5 hours. researching hondatech, hondaacuranet, hondaswap, ffsquad, hybrid, cspeed, turbod16, blah blah EVERYWHERE.
nobody documents how to do this.
PLEASE
here is what i have...
obd2gsr harness
obd1 d16z6 harness, chasis harness
obd2 d16y7 engine harness
if i had the b18c1 chasis harness this would be a sinch.. i think.
i was originally going to use the d16y7 harness over the engine.. but that arose A LOT of problems in an 94
so my current plan is just to cut off the three ecu plugs on the d16y7 harness, and then splice those onto my civic chasis harness. then plug the integ harness into my chasis harness and add wires where needed.
this sounds VERY difficult for a very COMMON swap.
can someone help me?
honda-tech archives don't work so don't say search =[
THANKS A BUNCH
this is really pissing me off =[
this was posted in here because hybrid gets slow traffic compared to here, and this is actually a tech question... and i need this FAST thanks =[

you have the obd2 GSR engine harness right? if you do, just plug it into the motor, then plug it in to you shock towers, run a obd1 P72 ecu. if you have a usdm motor, it can even be reffed just like that if you tell them it's a 94 motor (the refs can't tell what year the motor is).
if you don't have the obd2 GSR engine harness, i would use the d16z6 harness and do the following:
- buy a obd1 gsr dizzy
- reuse your stock d16z6 injectors
- buy a obd1 altenator
EVERYTHIHNG will the plug in, except for the IAB and knock sensor, which you'll have to run wires for. you can then run a obd1 p72.
i WOULD NOT convert the car's harness to OBD2. there are way too many things to wire for.

ditto
. you're making it a lot harder then it has to be.

so i can run it obd1?
they don't check the year? they won't check the vins or anything to confirm the year?
yes i have the obd2 gsr harness still on the car. so i'll plug it into my civic shocktower harness and run the extra knock/etc wires... and plug it into a obd1 p72?
you are ABSOLUTLY sure this will work? cause I really dont want to convert to obd2 whence the ref yells at me for having it obd1. and i am VERY low on cash now because i barrowed money just to get this engine (was an emergncy... almost had enough for the engine then i hydrolocked so i barrowed to get this).... and getting money to get an obd1 ecu is going to be hard.... and will make me mad if it stil doesnt pass =[
i'll just end up using my p28 in the mean time until i can get money for a p72 i guess.. i know it'll run like **** =[

also... he did not give me any "receipt" or papers or anything, but carfax on it verified everything so its legit... so if the refs check if its legit.. won't they see 98? should i just make a fake receipt?
========
i think i am just going to repin the obd2 ecu plugs i have to match the obd1 ecu plugs in my car. ~95% of the wires are the same, and i can run the rest from the shocktower to the plugs. this in theory should work... anybody know any reason it would not?

Listen to this guy
. Dont waste your timep hacking things up!! if you need verification, here's a little something posted by one of the moderators here b18c5-eh2:
"The OBD2 GS-R swap will plug right up if you use the OBD2 engine harness that comes with the GS-R swap. You will have a few plugs left over because the Civic's chassis harness doesn't have every single plug like the OBD2 cars do.
The plugs will all plug right up on each strut tower area. You don't have to swap distributors, injectors, or any of that bullshit if you keep the GS-R harness.
Then just find an OBD1 P72 ECU and plug it in. From there simply wire up your knock sensor and secondary butterflies and you're done. Your EX will already be wired for VTEC."
Here is another one of his posts:
"Jeez there are some misconceptions floating around about all of this, eh?
Look let me say this:
An OBD2 Integra engine swap into the 1992-1995 Civic is a cakewalk. Do not listen to any bullshit anyone else might type about it being more difficult, etc.
the engine may be OBD2 in the car it came in, but once you run an OBD1 ECU it is no longer "OBD2" anymore.
I run a 1998 B18C5 in my car with a re0chipped OBD1 P28 ECU and it has never
thrown a CEL and it makes more power than stock B18C5 in a Type R. "

i know its easy to swap it but and run it obd1.. but i want to run it obd2 and that has nothing to do with it.
also, if I run my car with a P28, can i just not wire ANYTHING? just use my si chasis harness. I know I won't have the IAB working.. but as long as the car runs not in safe mode.
also I can wire up the IAB to vtec? so they open with vtec? or would that blow a fuse or mess up the iab solenoid?
(when i get more money i'll get the obd1p72.. but this is jsut to get my caron the road)
