Default b18a in crx....what kinda intake?

my car right now has no air filter and it's raining... I got a filter from kragen and tried to connect it to the hose via this metal sleeve but it keeps falling off. what kind of intake do you guys use? and does it need to be modified or it fits? pics would help to thanks. btw im not just talking about performance just anything will do because I dont have the air box and I;m scared of sucking in water dirt etc

home depot parts make up my intake. Waltz on over there and grab some thin pipe or something? I really don't know. You can never have too many pipe clamps!

if your looking for something more like a cold air intake drive your car down to the muffler shop, take your air filter with you, and have the man bend you an intake tube. if you make it two pieces it is easier to install. Autozone sells the intake coupler for about $5. it's the one that clamps to the intake manifold and then increases in size for a bigger intake tube. granted it's not mandrel bent, but for only $35, you can't beat it. also most cans of paint are about $0.94 at your local Wal Mart, so you could have any color you wanted too.

what I have done in the past is I found a piece of pvc pipe that will fit down in the filter real snug (only if the filter is like it is in the first picture, the tube clamps over the filter) cut about 1 inch and put it in the end, this will reinforce the filter so it doesn't crush where you are going to clamp it, or just spray some paint around the edge of the filter, let it get tacky then clamp the tube to it. that's worked a few times
