Default My '98 Civic Hatch (DX non-vtec D16Y7) is missing at different RPM's...

Say you're in 3rd, and you want to go to 2nd and get on it. If you ease into the throttle, you're o.k., but if you stand on it, it's almost like it's going from 4 cyls. to 2. I'm using 3rd gear as an example. It happens in any gear. On a really bad day, you can hardly start off in 1st! You have to really rev it, and sloooowwly let the clutch out, and then, it's no guarantee that you will move. It really acts like it looses cylinders. I've checked the distributor, wires, replaced plugs, and run 2 bottles of JB injector cleaner through it. Before I torch it, can anyone offer suggestions?

tranny is o.k., and my clutch only has about 3000 miles on it. It's not really a problem like that, it's more like an engine prob. How badly do O2 censors effect how one of these cars run? The person that had the car before me, put a header on it. The header only had 1 O2 bung. He put one in, and just wrapped the second one with tape, and laid it on the engine. It's been that way since I got it (2 yrs ago), but it's just started this problem.

try checking your clutch fluid and bleed if necessary. i wouldnt think it would be that hard to start your car in first even if it was firing on 2 cylinders.
