JL 10w7 box help
I have looked at JL's site and i know that a sealed box is best at 1.25 cubic feet, and for a custom box they recommend to have a 1" mdf front panel with 3/4" walls for the rest of the box. I am trying to save some space in my 95 accord, so i was going to get a box with 3/4" thick mdf all the way around with 1.25 cubic feet. I dont run it extremely loud, so i think i will be fine. Do you think the box will be fine and hold up, any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
well you do realize that you'll be screwing the big heavy subwoofer into that front panel, so it has the weight of the sub on it as well as the stresses the other panels undergo.... i'd say just go with the 1" for that front panel to make sure nothing breaks, that extra 1/4" isn't going to help your trunk space at all

</TD></TR></TABLE>Ditto all that, lets say the baffle is 12"x12" , that would only be 36cu in and if its space you can't give up, put it inside the box, as it is way less then 10% of box volume, it will not make any diff. in the sound of the sub
