Default Snapped crower cam shaft

Well when my car first broke, I thought I had just snapped the timing belt. I also thought I got lucky and didn't bend any valves. So I pulled the valve cover off for the second time, and now not only saw the timing snapped, but that I had snapped my crower stage 3 exhaust camshaft. Since I am new I cant post in classifieds, so I was wondering if anyone has a set of stock cams they can let go for cheap. Let me know. Thanks.

Yikes! Did you have the upgraded valvetrain?

I thought the stories of snapped cams were only from a bad batch of materials in manufacturing....

I was racing it, hit second broke lose, hooked, then timing belt snap. And I guess the cam too, at the same time i guess. No over revving. I took it up to 8k like I always do. Also, I had titanium valvetrain from crower. everything was crower, so no clue y it snapped. But, if anyone on here wants to sell a full head, stock cams, whatever let me know. I really need a full head, cause my valves are gone for sure. Thanks.

BTW, it a JDM Blue top. That hurts me even more.

I have a pair of cams and gears from a 99' UK spec H22A8, don't know if they're compatible with USDM engines but if you can't find an alternative let me know and we'll sort something out.

Yeah, I've heard too many stories about Crower cams breaking. They have good profiles, but I wasn't going to risk it. Anyways I've got some stock USDM cams, as well as a set up Types SH cams (available as soon as I get a Jun Exhaust cam). Pm me if you're interested, though if you're needing an whole head you'll probably be getting your cams that way.

I know this isnt the first i haver heard either, my buddy broke one in his b16 and tore a ton of **** up.. and i saw a few threads here and there of it happening to others.. One thread the guy took the issue up with crower they inspected a bunch of parts and then gave him a new set.

sounds to me when the timming belt broke the piston hit the open valves har enough to put strain on the cams and that might have been why it broke...i bet when you pull the head youll see the bent valve ver close to where the cam broke

I have a set of crower stage 2 turbo cams. Exhaust side broke. Only because found out that they were torqued down at 50 pounds with an impact wrench.
They only need 20lbs or little less.

well guys I bought a head tonight off a local guy. its a j-spec head. I only paid $250 for the complete head, valve cover, and even the spark plug cover. Oh yeah, he threw in a new timing belt. All I need now is all four stock motor mounts. I need the ones off a 92-96 prelude. If anyone has, let me know.

BTW: I cant reply to your messages, this is only my 3rd post, I'm a newb.
