i need to know if i am wiring up my tach right i had it installed before by a friend so i took it out because something was wrong with it and sent it to autometer to be fixed when they sent it back it had all new wiring

1.black wire is ground
2. green wire is tach signal
3. red is 12 volt power where did you guys put that at
4 white can that go to the fuse box and hook it to number 8 fuse?

i know it sounds like i am telling some one on how to install this but really i am asking because i dont know and have tried everything maybe i have something wrong
