hey guys i jsut got my fully-tuned hondata s100 ecu back from SFP in miami they had a acciord there with a 95 jdm h22a with s100, same exact mods as me so i got a a good tuned chip......well today i went and got it i put it in and its a world of difference.....then i was listening and once i get up to around 7k it makes this pingy noise which sounds like detonation but after around 7k it clears up its only there for a little bit but i dont want it to get worse so any help.......i called the tuner back and he said advance my timing 14 degrees.....sound ok

i reatrded my timing as much as i could today and it still detonates around 7k but then clears up.....my car runs wicked rich at idle on my autometer a/f gauge it just sits there but once i start driving and let off the throttle it does to stoich then off the gauge....could my car be running to rich this is the reason why it is detonating?

#1 Every car is different. Fro your post it looks like you got a chip from a car with the same mods as yours. Unless your car is tuned specifically you can never tell what type of A/F ratio it needs.
#2 Your autometer a/f gauge doesnt mean much really because it is a narrowband gauge.

Go back and get your car tuned on the dyno. You dont have a good tune right now. That is basically your only choice. Messing with the timing really isnt going to help you right now. Set your timing back to stock and then hit up the dyno for a new tune.
