Broke a valve cover bolt.. what do i do now? **pictures inside**
well they sell a drill bit, i forgot what its called. i think its called an extractor or someshit. you drill it in, then put the drill in reverse once its locked in. the bolt might be very tight so you could probably use a hammer drill...
Its called an easy out, prolly your best bet. dont forget to cover up the internals before you take a drill to it and get shavings all over.
if its the same one im thinkin of i broke one a couple months back... go to honda and pick one up for $6 (that is not a typo) little **** bags cost a pretty penny... good luck

I broke one a while back i used a pin punch with a hammer and got it out. You just gotta find a nice edge to work on w/ the broken bolt in the motor. Just tap it and force it turn (as if you were loosing it) making sure you don't hit the treads. I don't recall the exact size though. Good luck!

yeah i used a pick and just turned it out by hand.
when you get a new bolt from honda dont forget to change the rubber washer on the top i found its easiest to cut the old bolt and boil the washer to losen it up to get on the new one.
next time dont torque it so much lol
good luck

well... it didn't work.
the drill bit was VERY difficult to sit in the middle of the broken bolt. i managed to get the screw extractor in, but when i turned it, it just ripped right through the bolt.
oh well.. i guess JB Weld is calling my name

This happened to me about two months ago, and nothing would get it out , you will melt some good drill bits trying to drill a hole for the extractor. I broke the front middle one on a z6 motor, so I put a rubber plug in it and it looks foctory and it does not leak so Im going to leave it. If any body has a fix for this please enlighten the needy.
if you had a Torque wrench and a helms, that would of never happen
but don't worry about it. it happened to me too, but on the opposite end

the extractors from sears are great. works everytime i used it....which really was only twice. but its really easy.....use one end of the bit to drill the hole and then flip the bit around and then it screws into the hole you just drilled and once it grabs hold of the screw she backs it out. Its kinda weird cause the bits are opposite threaded. so you go to the left to screw it in and to the right to back it out.

*this is exactly what i use.....one side drills and then you flip it around and then it extracts it.*

I had the same problem the first time I did it. You need a sharper drill bit. And drill deeper.
