Default New swap... GSR motor in hatch. help with whistle noise.

When the motor is just idling there is a whistling sound coming from it.. i was thinking maybe i put the altenator belt on too tight but its really hard to tell were the sound is coming from...

I also have really stiff motor mounts which create alot of vibration.. im not sure but any suggestions in things i should look at would be nice. before the motor was in my car this sound was not there.

Belt tension (tight or loose) can cause squealing noises. Do you have an intake? That can cause a whistle too.

Is your throttle body on tight?? If it is on a little loose the gasket will whistle. Also check to make sure your intake mani is tight as well.

it has something to do with the intake or throttle body.

i think the sound stopped. by my car is pretty dam fast for this elevation.. I cant beat SRT-4's but i spanked some rsx's and an S2000 as well. I raced a NSX and he spanked me good. but he couldnt pull away after his intial jump.. he couldnt pull away.. IM still running a cel for my o2 sensor.. and i havent put on my 4-2-1 header. so im happy at this point..

The whistleing comes from the throttle body gasket? I always thought the GSR's did that becasue of the secondaries, interesting.
