Default who has a vortec supercharged b16?

just wanted to know who in here has a vortec supercharged b16?
how many miles did your motor have on it when you put the charger on?
how many miles does it have now?
what problems did you run into with the install and while running it? (big and minor)
how much did you pay for your setup?
how much boost are you running?
are you running an aftercooler?

sorry for all the questions, i just wanted to get a feel for what you are running and the setup you have

I did

About 11000. I took the blower off around 23000 because it sucked.

Approx. 55000, it's been rebuilt and is in my EF sedan.

Wouldn't hold belts, needed to get the head unit rebuilt after 500 miles because the bearings went bad, it made absolutely dick for low end more, it made absolutely dick for mid range power, it made disapointing top end power compared to a turbocharger.

Far, far too much. It was a little over 4000 dollars for a satin intercooled kit.

8-11 psi.

I was.

My advice? Avoid this kit like the PLAGUE. You're going to pay 4000 dollars for a brand new kit that is far inferior to a turbo setup. The install on the kit went fine, but the power, or lack thereof, was a complete and utter disapointment.

i didnt realize the power was that bad with the vortech i guess i assumed wrong. i was looking into a turbo setup but they seem so much more complex, the one thing i like about the vortech is that it is completely bolt on and you dont have to modify the exhaust or anything

Drag kit is pretty much bolt on... i would think that the installation is alot less headache than spending $4000 on a vortech kit that seems to underperform.

I really didn't like the vortech at all. I heard from lots of places that "Superchargers give you great low end and no boost lag!", so I thought yeah, with a torqueless B16 that would be nice. Couldn't be further from the truth. I sold the kit, went turbo, and never looked back. Most turbo kits are basically bolt on, and I'd rather pull off your bumper and maybe trim the bumper support instead of dealing with trying to keep a belt on it and the lousy powerband.
