I got a USDM D16z6 Bullfrog head and was wondering if it would fit onto a JDM D15 v-tec engine and what other parts would i need to do the conversion?

BullFrog is a performance company. The BullFrog D16z6 head is fully rebuilt head with ported out intake manifold, throttle, and exhuast ports. Also comes with a performance mild cam, reforced valve and valve springs, performance ECU, and a power band from 2000rpm to 8500rpm. I found out from some site that some guy put it on his stock d16z6 block and dyno it at 148hp to the wheels. It could be bullshit. Here is the BullFrog website http://www.gude.com/ another site that has some more info http://www.wabe.net/silum/bullfrog.html
I replaced the fuel rail with the AEM fuel rail and got new injectors.
Do i need to do something with my wiring harness because the engine is JDM? I dont think i have to make a vtec line, because all 1992 honda civic comes stock with a v-tec line. But is there something else i need?

you can use the same wiring that comes with the engine.
searched for a sec and came up with this, it might help u out.

Ya the picture does help. Thanks RedHB...D15b. Hey i was going to go with a Venom nitrous oxide wet kit also. you think the engine would handle 70shot jet?
if you have hondata or uberdata, u can tune your car. I would tune it for a 70 shot, but a 50 shot should be ok untunable for some time...if you are planing on using something like a 70 shot in the long run, you should eventually get it tuned.

where can u buy a hondata for a good price? is buying a used hondata ok? Would the engine be kinda tuned with the bullfrog ecu?
the head looks clean

U should get Uberdata (a rip off of hondata). Its free to download. Check it out here http://www.ecimulti.org/uberdata/forum/ .

It depends what they did to it, dont really know the company. They probably chipped for the rev limit and the cam.

Back in the day, when Bill put those head/cam packages together, there really weren't any affordable tuning options, besides reprogrammed ECU's and FPR's. He took the best results through a few different dyno sessions and saved that program for his kit. It should run pretty well with what you have there, but if you don't want to go with a Hondata or Uberdata set up, consider at least a VAFC and FPR, along with a cam gear and some dyno time to get it right.
My friend Kevin had the exact set up in his CRX years ago when he was sponsored by GUDE, his best time was 13.5 on slicks. Really good for a SOHC N/A set up that long ago.

cool head, i like the set-up. BTW, i think maybe there might be 1 sensor different between the jdm d15 head and the z6 head, but it doesn't matter because you are putting the z6 on the d15b block, and its going in a usdm car. so good luck.

You don't need to tune for nitrous epecially if you are using wet kit (it uses it's own fuel, might wonna retard the timming a few degrees and run 2 step colder plugs). Second of all you don't need to tune for that head neither. It seems to be already tuned. Third of all you might wonna hold on on nitrous because compression on that motor is pretty high and d series aren't that strong (they milled the **** out of that head).
I wouldn't use nitrous on that motor, nor would I rev it past 8 grand because you will prolly spin a bearing after like a dozen tries. If you are using nitrous using something like NX, venom is gay and expensive plus NX gets the best ratings from people.
how much did that head cost you anyways?

Thanks for all the info guys. I bought the head for $500. the guy before was using it on his eg witha usdm d16z6 block.
I didnt know that the compression would be that high. the JDM d15 v-tec only has 5hp more that the usdm, i just like that the JDM comes with a LSD tranny, good gear ratio and the compresion is a little bit higher.
Maybe, this is what i should do. Ill put the head and the block and tranny together. Get the Hondata. Take it to a shop to get it tuned and dyno and see what is the compresion. Then ill see if the compression is low enough for nitrous. Plus a wet kit is fine, wet is always better.
Really... the NX is better than Venom?

compression is going to be high because that head was milled quite alot. You could still spray it but you got to be carefull. That ecu is prolly already tuned for that head, so no need to tune again. First get it running then if you wonna spray it get a wet kit from NX or Zex don't bother with venom crap, retard the timing a little bit, and run at least 1 step colder plugs.

you should probably retune for that head though. The head was set up for a z6, and now its going on a d15b. The ecu will be running rich i think.

ya ya. i know all of that stuff for the nitrous. Retard the timing a couple degrees and get colder spark plugs. I used to have a Zex dry nitrous kit with a 55shot on my 92 Sentra. I liked Zex, it was cool and easy to use and install. What was nice about it that i can turn it on before i take off and shoot in every gear and dont have to worry while im changing gears.
