hahahaha, a d15b head is just a z6 head, so yes a mini me. why are you only using the head and not just the whole motor???

d15b heads and d16z6 heads are identical, with the d15b having a slightly more agressive cam. With a d15b head and a 1.6 block, expect a slightly better performing d16z6.

werd. bauley is the man.

throw in the D16A1 pistons and the D16Y8 intake manifold while you're at it

im getting the whole d15b motor coz it has an lsd. i was thinking of pitting on just the head to get the bigger displacement of my 1.6 block, plus its an easier install coz its only a head swap. or should i just put the whole d15b motor in?

Whole D15B motor...its rated 5hp higher than the D16Z6.

the d15b is better all around, higher compression and more agressive cam as Bauley mentioned. Don't go with the d16 block, thatd be a waste. Plus if you get lucky with a complete changeover you might come out with a coveted(sp?) lsd tranny, the reason the d15's are brought over here in the first place!

i want to put the d15b head on the 1.6 block because i want more torque than a 1.5 block. is my assumption correct? that is, will this combination be torquier than a stock d15b?

I think you will have a timing issue with that combo. Probably the exact reverse of what I had happen here with my cam in my D15B:

"2. Timing. Both the 59100 and 59300 are made for a D16, so I will assume this finding relates to both models. The deck height of the D15B is shorter than the D16, so the cam timing is going to be off with the aftermarket cam. I calculated this to be about 9.8 degrees, or nearly a tooth on the cam sprocket. This is fine as far as timing the cam to the crank is concerned, as it still can be set straight up. The distributor will need to be advanced to account for this though, and I was unable to get mine set at 16 degrees BTDC even though my distributor was fully advanced."
