JRSC boost upgrade question.
I want to acheive 9psi on my sohc jrsc kit.
currently i'm running the stock 6psi, but will be upping it soon,
i'm not quite sure how to go about it though.
Basically the only two options for the sohc kits are crank pulley or SC pulley.
now the smallest SC pulley I can run, will net me 8psi..
but I don't like the idea of a bigger crank... cuz it'll be heavier..
so what's my best course of action?
Is there any performance difference between upping the crank size or lowering the SC pulley size??
thanks!

The easiest thing to do is to upgrade to a crv pulley B20 {crank} however...it will overdrive your ac, alternator ect. a little because the pulley is bigger. Your best bet would to be contactin Jim at mortorvations motorsports. he sells a pulley for the alternator that will up your boost to about 9 PSI and bolts right on. This keeps you from having to pull the blower loose to remove the pulley or removing the crank pulley. It also helps keep the longevity of your alt. ect. I'm not sure what his # is....but if you search...you can find it. Good luck! Ps--- the b20 pulley will give you about 10 -11 PSI
Check out Unorthodox Racing's Ultra SSc crank pulley. Overdrives the alternator only, giving the extra boost you're seeking. It's very light, way lighter than the stock crank pulley.

ah I see, ok i'll look into that.
hmm, I'm worried about the alternator thing though,
i've had charging problems in the past and don't look forward to more.
I can't use any stepper pulley, like the jim motorvations thing,
thats for bseries only. the sohc runs one belt that goes around all 3 pullies(crank alt sc)
i dont have any ac or ps though so no worries there.

Tad,
from what I understand, the d15b crank pulley is larger, and thus will spin the alt faster and the s/c faster. Although, I don't know how much psi that will net

On my old Z6 I ran the CRV pulley and the 8psi JR pulley. Ended up with 10psi, never had any problems with the alternator/charging system.

cool, no probs with the charging system huh, thats good to know.
any clue how much the crv pulley makes with the stock SC pulley?
i'm thinking I might just find the right diameter crank, and
get a lightweight one from unorthodox or something, like made for a crv.

IF u have the D series, doesen't it only have 1 belt to drive the SC? & if your worried about over speeding the alternator, change the crank pulley & get the Unorthodox underdrive pulley for the alternator & that will cure the problem.
