rear coilover install problem
So my buddy and i put on the from apexi ws coilovers and we started on the back. We cant get the bottom of the factory strut off because of the bolt that holds it to the bushing. Is there a way to get it off without having to damage the bushing, or do i need to just replace it
very sommon on mchpersons for the lower bolt to sieze w/ the bushing and whatnot....happened to a guy i know, and they just had it pressed off, and got a new bushing
if you are talking about the same bolt i am talking about, me and my buddy were working on his car installing Omnipower coilovers on his dc, we ran into the same problem, first we sprayed wd40 then we use a impact wrench like stated. hope it works, good luck to you.
yeah wd40 and impact wrench takes that off, i ran into the same problem with mine too, if you dont have impact wrench, then a torque bar extended on to your wrench will help too. good luck with the install

if the bolt is seized, you have to use an impact.. using a breaker bar will most likely snap the bolt..

problem won't be solved.. you'll have a bigger problem.. if the head snaps off, the rod will still be in the bushings seized. then you'll have to drill the entire thing out which will be a major pain in the ****..

Yeah, thats a good pain in the *** there... I had to end up torching off the damn bolts and then torching the bushings out, yeah, burned the rubber and ****. I need to put new ones in soon cause I can feel a lotta play in the rear b/c of it. GOOD LUCK!~!
