Default question about tuning Hondata vs vafc

dont say search because i did for 5 minutes and couldnt find it i just need a quick answer.... i have a b16a3 motor and i am putting header/intake/exhaust/cams and cam gears on it... should i go with a hondata or a vafc2 for this setup...also my main question is how much does it usually cost to tune them?? which one is cheaper? thanks

unless you plan on doing your own tuning it depends on the ability of whoever is tuning your car.

vafc is gonna be cheaper, but you are limited to what you can do vs the hondata

vafc you can tune yourself if you know what you are doing, hondata requires laptop, romulator, ect, ect.

the shop i "work" at charges $60 pr/hr for dyno use if you bring your own mechanic/tuner
and it usually takes about two hours to tune hondata

i really don't work there i just operate the dyno when its being used

VAFC is a waste of money IMO, just get a Hondata (or for a cheaper but just as good solution an Uberdata P28, mine cost me 140 bucks shipped) and tune it using a wideband. You HAVE to use a wide band (and pref a dyno at the same time) in order to properly tune this. Otherwise its just a lot of guessing and not worth the trouble.
